SHGC (Solar Heat Gain Coefficient)

Definition

The fraction of solar radiation that passes through a window, measured from 0 to 1. Lower SHGC blocks more heat. In Colorado, moderate SHGC (0.25-0.40) balances winter solar heating with summer cooling.
